Just so we can Dance

Accordion, Clarinet, and String Trio, 7 mins, 2014

Chamber | Large Ensemble

The title Just so we can Dance comes from the last line of each verse of the most common translation of the Serbian Traditional song Adje Jano. The Cracow Klezmer band's recording of Adje Jano informed the two part structure of Just so we can Dance.

Just so we can Dance was written for and performed by CHROMA ensemble: Stuart King, Ian Watson, David Le Page, Robert Ames, Clare O'Connell. They premiered it at the David Josefowitz Recital Hall in the Royal Academy of Music and give it its second performance at the Dora Stoutzker Hall at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. It has since been performed at a Non-Classical concert at the Victoria in Dalston by an Iosef Puritz, Cecilia Bignall, Antonia Kesel, Cristoven Tan and Matthew Scott.
